SDO20744 - 1 Shapwick Road, Hamworthy, Poole, BH15 4AP, archaeological watching brief results

This report presents the results of an archaeological watching brief at 1 Shapwick Road, Hamworthy, Poole. This project was undertaken as a condition of planning consent during works that included replacement of a garage and single-storey extensions with a larger two-story extension. The groundworks phase of the project was undertaken under archaeological supervision. As significant features dating to the Roman period were discovered some extensions to the groundworks trenches were required to allow these features to be investigated and recorded to an appropriate level of detail proportionate to the impact of the development.
