Abstract/Summary
Report on excavations to the rear of South Grove Cottage, in advance of the construction of the Lee Motors garage. Three phases were defined. Phase 1 comprised postholes and a pit of 2nd century AD date. Phase 2 comprised an oven, a pit and chalk and mortar surfaces dating to the late 3rd century AD. Phase 3 comprised part of a Roman stone-footed building of probablelLate 3rd/4th century AD date. Also contains details of finds.
