Abstract/Summary

Parts of the counterscarp bank and the outermost defensive ditch on the west side of the Roman town of Dorchester were revealed during evaluation excavation and watching briefs. No full section across the bank or ditch was revealed but a reconstruction of the course of the defences was possible.
