Abstract/Summary
'In February and March 2023, Cotswold Archaeology carried out an archaeological excavation on land at North Poole, Canford Park, Bearwood, Dorset. A single area measuring c. 900m² was excavated, centred on a possible Roman ditch recorded by a previous trial trench evaluation.
Three archaeological features were recorded: an Iron Age pit, a possible late Iron Age/Roman
holloway and a post-medieval a ditch. The holloway contained quantities of slag indicative of late prehistoric metalworking.'
