Description

Excavation of an area around 900m² centred on a possible Roman ditch recorded during a trial trench evaluation revealed three archaeological features: an Iron Age pit, a possible late Iron Age/Roman holloway and a post-medieval ditch. The holloway contained quantities of slag indicating late prehistoric metal working.
