Abstract/Summary
‘In August 2023, Cotswold Archaeology carried out an archaeological watching brief during the excavation of a surface water outfall ditch at North Poole, Canford Park, Bearwood, Dorset.
The watching brief recorded a single ditch containing a probable dump of domestic hearth material. A single prehistoric worked flint was recovered, along with palaeoenvironmental material suggestive of a later prehistoric or Roman date. It is likely that the recorded ditch is associated with a known Late Iron Age/Roman enclosed settlement which is present to the immediate north-west of the watching brief area.’
