Abstract/Summary

A summary of the results of archaeological observations and recording carried out by the Trust for Wessex Archaeology during the construction of a mains water pipe from Stinsford to Robin's Barrow. The principal archaeological finds listed include: a disused and backfilled quarry; two rectangular features with late Bronze Age/early Iron Age pottery, interpreted as a possible settlement; and various linear and sub-rectangular features, undated. A section through the Stinsford-Puddletown parish boundary was recorded. The report concludes with a discussion of the probable location of Robin's Barrow, of which little trace remains above ground.
