Abstract/Summary
‘Bournemouth Archaeology was commissioned by Mark Gosling to undertake an archaeological evaluation at Berryfields, Back Lane, Sturminster Marshall, Dorset to inform a planning application for a two storey addition and new conservatory to the rear of the property, as well as an enlargement to the existing garage (NGR ST949002).
Two trenches, each measuring 2m in length and 0.60m wide were hand excavated in two areas to the depth of natural subsoil within the foundation footprint of proposed development in an attempt to evaluate the archaeological potential of the site. Archaeological deposits were identified in both trenches.
This report comprises the final report on the findings of the project.’
