Abstract/Summary

Report presents the summary results of a programme of archaeological observations and recording carried out by Southern Archaeological Services Ltd at Longham Reservoir. Seven areas were topsoil-stripped and subsequently amalgamated into a single large stripped area. A Late Bronze Age pit and two Early Iron Age pits were interpreted as representing 'ritual' activity. Evidence for Late Bronze Age and medieval agricultural use was also recovered, represented by two layers and one layer (respectively) interpreted as remnant ploughsoils.
