Abstract/Summary
Report presents the results of an archaeological evaluation carried out by Cotswold Archaeology in relation to proposed road improvements. Thirteen mechanically cut trenches were excavated through the study area. Ten of these produced no archaeologically significant remains. A shallow, undated linear ditch was noted in Trench 7 and three shallow, undated ditches were found in Trench 8. In Trench 12, a rough metalled surface of flint gravel in a chalky clay matrix was overlain by topsoil. No dateable finds were recovered. A small group of Neolithic or Bronze Age struck flint was recovered from Trenches 1 and 5.
