Summary

The monument includes the Roman road which ran between Dorchester (Durnovaria) and Old Sarum (Sorviodunum) via Badbury Rings. Only three sections of this road still survive as upstanding earthworks containing traces of the road surface.

The cropmark remains of a short section of the Roman road described by the above authority is visible on aerial photographs. The road can be seen between approximately SY 8211 9584 to the west and SY 8247 9598 in the east. This feature is visible on aerial photographs taken by English Heritage in 2007. (2)
