Please read our .

Summary

An archaeological evaluation in 2008 following demolition of the former BEC carpet store and in advance of development for housing showed that much of the site had been disturbed, but revealed evidence of medieval occupation in an undisturbed area. This was a dark layer, possibly a midden spread, and was cut through by a shallow gully terminal, and dating to the 13th – 15th centuries.
