Full Description

An area of pronounced field banks and lynchets on the top and sides of the spur and under grass and rough pasture.

On the S slopes of the spur, in areas A and B, there are scattered but long and occasionally parallel sets of what appear to be superimposed Md strip lynchets, though in area A these have utilized the earlier system rather than simply superimposing themselves upon it. <1>

Part of RCHM Group (43) Celtic fields group, which includes a probable settlement site at 'a' ST 72050305, (see plan) flanked by a bank at 'b', with an apparent ditch N of it, possibly re-used as a track. There is a rectangular platform 66ft by 42 ft bounded by low lynchets at 71890285. <2-3>

At ST 71880287 on a northwest-southeast spur amidst the 'Celtic' fields is a well-defined rectangular platform 22.0m. northwest-southeast by 12.0m transversely. It has been terraced 0.6m into the hillslope to create a levelled interior bounded on the downhill by a scarp 0.8m high. Its function could not be ascertained.
