Summary

The fragmentary remains of a prehistoric field system are visible as earthworks on lidar imagery on the southern spur of Ball Hill, Piddletrenthide. The system of perpendicular fields extend across an area of over 18 hectares and incorporate a rectilinear enclosure at ST 72140 02783 which is possibly the site of a farmstead. The features appear to be contemporary with the settlement and trackway described in MDO1977 and form part of a wider system of fields described in MDO43349. The features were digitally recorded during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project.

The fragmentary remains of a prehistoric field system are visible as earthworks on lidar imagery on the southern spur of Ball Hill, Piddletrenthide.
