Monument record MDO399 - Bowl barrow in Seven Barrow Plantation, Bradford Peverell

A group of barrows and mounds in Seven Barrow Plantation: (2)

'B' - (SY 64799244). A probable bowl barrow, about 50ft diameter and 3.5ft high, just south of long barrow 'A'. (RCHM No 12a; Grinsell's Bradford Peverell bowl barrow No 12). (3)

An unusual barrow group situated near the crest of a broad south-west spur. The undergrowth which formerly obscured the group and limited investigation has been removed and the north-west half of the area completely cleared of woodland. This part is regularly used as a cattle pen with the consequence that severe damage is incurred by their trampling, especially to the lower monuments. See plan and ground photographs.

'B'. SY 64789244. A conifer covered bowl type barrow with no visible ditch. It is 14.0 metres in diameter, 1.8 metres high on the south-west and on the north-east, it is 0.6 metres higher than the abutting 'A'. Barrows surveyed at 1:2500 on M.S.D. (7)
