Full Description

A group of barrows and mounds in Seven Barrow Plantation: (2)

'H' - (SY 64739246). Mound, entirely overgrown (no dimensions given). (RCHM No 12g; Grinsell's Bradford Peverell bowl barrow No 15). (3)

The area in which these barrows lie is so densely covered with trees and undergrowth that it could only be penetrated in part. Mounds 'D','E','F','G','L', and 'M' appear to be bowl barrows and 'C' a long barrow. (6)

An unusual barrow group situated near the crest of a broad south-west spur. The undergrowth which formerly obscured the group and limited investigation has been removed and the north-west half of the area completely cleared of woodland. This part is regularly used as a cattle pen with the consequence that severe damage is incurred by their trampling, especially to the lower monuments. See plan and ground photographs.

'H'. SY 64749246. A bowl barrow, with a diameter of 19.0 metres east to west, and 20.0 metres north to south; it is 2.5 metres high. There is no visible surrounding ditch, but it is abutted on the north side by 'J'. (See ground photograph). Barrows surveyed at 1:2500 on M.S.D.

Part of the barrows and mounds in Seven Barrow Plantation; 12 in number and they are much overgrown. The barrow is entirely overgrown. <1>

This barrow was of unknown diameter (?) and height (?). It was covered with bushes. <2>
