Full Description

An overgrown bowl barrow, 44ft diameter by 5.5ft high on the spine of a spur running north-east. <1> <2>

SY 76548401. A bowl barrow, extrememly overgrown, with two water storage tanks resting on its top. Diameter 15.0m, height 2.0m. No visible ditch. Re-surveyed at 1:2500 on M.S.D. <4>

A Bronze Age bowl barrow is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs <5> to the north of Holworth, Owermoigne. The barrow is sub-circular in shape and measures approximately 12 m in diameter. The barrow is scheduled together with three others located to the south and west (see MDO1860, MDO1861 and MDO1863). This feature was digitally plotted as part of the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
