Full Description

'B' - SY 76078384. A ditched bowl barrow 53ft diameter by 6ft high on slope to south of 'A'. <2> <4>

'B' - SY 76078383. In arable but not ploughd over. Diameter 15.0m, maximum height 2.2m No visible ditch. Re-surveyed at 1:2500 on M.S.D. <5>

A Bronze Age bowl barrow is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of the 1940s <1> and 2009 <7> on Moigns Down, Owermoigne. The barrow is sub-oval in shape and measures approximately 17 m by 14 m. It is surrounded by a narrow ditch. The barrow is scheduled together with three others located to the north and west (see MDO1860, MDO1861 and MDO1864). This feature was digitally plotted as part of the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
