Description

Archaeological observations and recording were carried out by Terrain Archaeology during the construction of a new two storey extension to the rear of the Dorset Town Council offices at 19 North Square, Dorchester. A small number of Roman and medieval features, primarily pits, were uncovered. Post-medieval features included a well and numerous garden and yard surfaces. On the northern boundary of the site was an ice-house.
