Abstract/Summary

Lilian Ladle carried out a programme of archaeological observations and recording during groundworks the early 19th century house. This work located evidence for an earlier dwelling destroyed in the 1762 Fire of Wareham. Three construction trenches were dug to the east of the house to a depth of 0.6m Only one was observed properly as the other two were backfilled before observations could be made. In other rooms the exposed floor was observed where possible.
