Description

Albert Lional Frederick Rivet, known as Leo (1915-1993). Assistant Archaology Officer at the Ordnance Survey from 1952. Published 'Town and Country in Roman Britain' in 1956. Lecturer at Keele University from 1964 and Professor of Roman Provincial Studies from 1974 also at Keele University. Other publications included 'The Place-Names of Roman Britain' (1979) with Colin Smith, and 'Gallia Narbonensis' (1988).
