Abstract/Summary

The find of a pit during renovation at this store in 1994 was reported by Mr S Maclean, a building control surveyor at WDDC. The feature had been found during the excavation of a hole for the addition of a pier within the building. It was found about 1m deep, with a dark loamy fill containing frequent flint nodules and other relatively large stones. Several fragments of animal bone had been recovered during the excavation. No dating evidence was found
