Abstract/Summary
Two one-metre-square test pits were dug in the churchyard at the east end of St George’s Church, in advance of reducing the ground level and erecting a new fence. The test pits were dug to a maximum depth of 0.5 m. A series of levelling layers associated with the extension of the east end of the church in 1907-8 were exposed. No earlier archaeological layers were encountered.
