Description
Pen and ink with colour wash, with some areas in pencil. The property of the Corporation is green. Chubbs Charity, The hospital land, All Saints Church property, The Free School property and Whetstones Almshouse is yellow or orange. The lands and properties of the Earl of Shaftesbury are coloured blue. The boundary of the town is red. The boundary between Trinity and St Peter's parishes is orange and the boundary between the parishes of St Peter's and All Saints is red. There is no date on this map but it is probably dated about 1810. There is a later map (DRO D/COO:E/7) which appears to be based on this map which says "Surveyed AD1810". The Dorset Record Office reference is D1/OE1. The map originally came from the Dorset County Museum.
