As part of the redevelopment of the site an 'L-shaped' foundation trench was mechanically excavated to a depth of 0.90m and impacted post-medieval layers and a Victorian wall. The natural, observed where possible, revealed no earlier archaeological features; however any possible features may have been truncated by later post-medieval and modern activity.
