Abstract/Summary
Archaeological monitoring and recording was undertaken in October 2017 during groundworks associated with the construction of a six retirement apartments and associated infrastructure at 3 St Martin’s Lane, Wareham, Dorset (NGR SY 92338768). The work was undertaken as part of a programme of archaeological works required in support of a planning application. No archaeological features were noted although a small assemblage of medieval pottery was recovered from the topsoil. The deep post-medieval topsoil layer, characteristic of the town, was present across the excavated footings trenches.
