EDO7915 - 3 St Martin's Lane, Wareham; observations and recording 2017

Observations and recording during groundworks associated with the building of retirement apartments and associated infrastructure. With the exception of a small quantity of artefacts of medieval and later date recovered from topsoil horizon (100), the watching brief has provided no evidence for significant archaeological activity in the area of the new building. The presence of these artefacts may indicate archaeological activity elsewhere on the site, but it is considered to have a low potential. The depth of topsoil is indicative of a Post-medieval horizon widely recorded across the town.
