Abstract/Summary
An archaeological watching brief was undertaken on behalf of the householder as a condition of Scheduled Monument Consent for removal of a conservatory and erection of a new one. The site was located within the Scheduled Monument designated as 'part of the defences of the Anglo-Saxon fortified centre of Wareham and part of the motte and bailey castle with shell keep'. Ground works were observed and no archaeological features or evidence of the keep were identified.
