Abstract/Summary
A magnetometer survey was carried out on behalf of A C Archaeology within an area of land at Wool. The northern part of the site was to be developed for housing. The aim of the survey was to locate archaeological features that extended in to the proposed development area from the southern part of the land that contained the scheduled remains of a Romano-British settlement. The results showed that the main zone of the archaeological features was within the scheduled area. This was apx 9ha containing the settlement defined by a linear ditch with enclosures, pits, structural remains and possible industrial features. North of the ditch were enclosures, pits or possible quarries. There were further possible enclosures and pits or quarries outside the scheduled area to the north-east and with less precision to the north-west.
