Abstract/Summary
'Terrain Archaeology undertook archaeological observations and recording during the topsoil stripping for the remaining phases of quarrying operations at Lewis Quarries quarry in Home Field, Acton, Langton Matravers. One stone-filled field drain was exposed and a small linear feature filled with charcoal-rich clay, which may be an outlier to the Iron Age and Roman settlement site at Blacklands further to the east. A small quantity of finds were recovered from the top of the subsoil, primarily worked flint of broadly Late Neolithic/Early Bronze Age date.'
