Abstract/Summary

The church of St Mary Magdalene is a Grade I Listed building with 12th century origins, and work was undertaken under a Faculty of the Consistory Court of the Diocese of Salisbury. Archaeological monitoring and recording carried out by Context One Archaeological Services Ltd (COAS) during groundworks related to the installation of toilet facilities and an oil tank at St Mary Magdalene Church, Loders revealed a few fragments of human bone seen in the topsoil of the pipe trench to the west of the church tower. These were consistent with the normal long-term use of the churchyard for interments. No other archaeological features or deposits were identified.
