Description

Observations and recording during excavation of a pipe trench at the western end of the church leading to the tower and, separately, the base of an oil tank situated on the eastern boundary of the churchyard. Digging of the pipetrench exposed topsoil approximately 0.2m deep over subsoil. Fragments of human bone seen in the topsoil to the west of the tower were deemed to be consistent with normal long-term use of the churchyard for interments. No archaeological features or deposits were observed.
