SDO14188 - Stourpaine Landfill Site, Stourpaine, Dorset: Archaeological Assessment

Report presents the results of an archaeological assessment comprising archaeological test-pitting and trenched evaluation conducted by the Oxford Archaeological Unit between the 10th and 20th September 1990 on land at Down End Farm, Stourpaine, Dorset. This work identified a light but extensive spread of occupation material(mainly worked/burnt flint and pottery), with part of an important Late Iron Age/Romano-British settlement in the south-east corner of the study area, corresponding with a previously known ditched enclosure at Down End Farm.
