Abstract/Summary
A proposal to include the Drummond Road stone trackway in the Historic Environment Record for Dorset. A report describing Purbeck Stone track edge and guttering on the west side of Drummond Road, written in relation to the likelihood of further damage to the trackway resulting from a planning application at 2 Drummond Road. The trackway and gutter are made of local Purbeck stone and are approximately 120 years old. Its origin was probably to transport stone mined from small underground quarries to the harbour. The remaining section is c. 50m long and is damaged and/or has had sections removed. There is one other example in the Purbeck area, in Marshall Row Road, Swanage.
