Abstract/Summary
A watching brief on construction of a temporary airwave mast on the Verne Citadel, Portland was conducted in April 2010 by Arrowhead Archaeology for Galliford Try to fulfil a condition on the planning consent.
No features or finds of earlier than modern date were present. A layer of limestone rubble present at the bottom of the stratified sequence is interpreted as a residue from construction of adjacent Citadel buildings during the second half of the 19th century.
