Abstract/Summary
An archaeological evaluation consisting of two machine-excavated trenches was undertaken by AC archaeology on land at the rear of Dorset House, High Street, Gillingham, Dorset, in March 2010. The work was undertaken in support of a planning application for the construction of new dwellings on the site. With the exception of a small quantity of post medieval pottery sherds, retrieved from a subsoil horizon present in both trenches, the evaluation has shown the site to have no archaeological interest.
