Abstract/Summary
Intermittent observations maintained during construction of a water pipeline between Shatcombe and Toller Down, near Beaminster in Dorset, revealed a possible prehistoric pit at the head of the dry valley of the River Hooke, within an otherwise undisturbed soil sequence.
A small archive of site records (Asi 3076) will be deposited with Dorset County Museum and, following microfilming, the National Monuments Record.
