Abstract/Summary
'In September 2004, Terrain Archaeology carried out an evaluation on the site of the proposed flood defences, Hamworthy Park, Hamworthy, Poole (NGR SY997902). This site lies close to areas where significant finds of Late Iron Age and Roman archaeology have been found. Three trenches were excavated close to the line of the flood defences. No archaeological features were noted in any of the trenches, although a palaeochannel or ditch was observed in Trench 3. Overall, the general lack of archaeological features and artefacts suggest that this area was not a focus of activity in the past.'
