Abstract/Summary

The evaluation included the excavation of at least two trenches and a watching brief to incorporate the recording of thirteen test pits. The two trenches revealed no significant archaeological features or structures. The authors concluded that, prior to laying of the tarmacadam surface, top soil had been removed and the site levelled. Part of a probably medieval pit was located in the southern part of Trench 1. A test pit in the northern part of the site revealed potential important archaeology in the form of further medieval refuse pits.
