Unidentified structure seen on a 1940s AP. <4>

The structure described in <4> is East Weare barracks. East Weare barracks were constructed in 1880, converted to a coastguard station in 1914, and are now dilapidated. They are visible on aerial photographs of 1946 and 2009 <5-6>. The barracks block is a square building, with four ancillary buildings or structures around it. This site was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
