Monument record MWX454 - Portland Old Station

Site of railway station on the Weymouth and Portland branch line, opened in 1865 and closed in 1905. <1>

Site of Victoria Square terminus station of the Weymouth & Portland Railway, opened in 1865 and closed in 1902 when it became a Goods Shed.

Demolished in February 1969 to make way for a new roundabout. Published photographs show, e.g., the station in late 1860, 1904 and the late 1950s. <2>
