Full Description
Marked on second edition OS map. (1) A small quarry is marked on the 1926 surveyed map. (2) It is a small area of cliff top cleared back down to the cap or roach beds in preparation for quarrying. There is a small stockpile of scappled blocks on the cliff top a short distance NE. (3)
The quarry described above (in 1-3)is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of the 1940s to the east of LawnshedS. A second quarry is located to the south (see MDO19539). The quarry is visible over an area measuring approximately 26 m by 20 m. (4) The site is still visible on the most recent comprehensive aerial imagery available to the project. (5) This site was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
