Clay pits shown on the Ordnance Survey map of 1885, not shown on the map of 1900. [1-2]
The clay pit is visible as a clear earthwork on aerial photographs of 1947 and as a less distinct earthwork on photographs of 2008. (3-4) It measures approximately 170 m by 46 m. This site was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
