Full Description

'New' burial ground situated behind the Friend's Meeting House on the east side of South Street. 51 headstones extant, north-south axis of graves with head to the south, All stones c. 0.5m wide, 0.5-0.6m high and 0.05m thick with semi-circular tops. Incised inscriptions, some paint filled. Access from South Street via doorways and small courtyards. 1.2m high east wall allowed a view to the river and hills, other walls of generally coursed, squared mortared rubble, ranged in height from 1.8 to 3m and surrounded a pleasant garden situation (1)
