Full Description

Aerial photographic transcription revealed system to be greater extent than previously thought, probably originally covering the whole of the top of the Ridgeway
Trial trenching produced very little direct evidence but discovery of a ditched field boundary suggests that system of greater extent than previously thought . Fields laid out with regard to barrow cemetery although not exactly on same alignment. Majority of barrows in corners of fields or along boundary. Possible earlier field boundaries on same alignment of barrow cemetery. Valuable evidence for Bronze Age land allotment and land-use (2)
