Full Description

Previous phases of archaeological evaluation at the site had indicated that the remains of a prehistoric field system survived within the development area. This phase of works demonstrated that several phases of field system were in fact represented, with three distinct phases being suggested (Bronze Age / Romano - British / Medieval). Two excavated pits (one Bronze Age, one Romano British) also suggest the existence of contemporary settlements in the vicinity.(1)
