Full Description

The Hartlepool was sunk by a torpedo in 1940 fired by a German E-Boat. (4)

03-OCT-1986: Least echosounder depth 10.00 in general depth 12.5m. No scour. Broken up and spread over wide area. Diver confirmed no shape to wreck and identified 2 metal sheets, roughly 10 x 15 feet, lying flat but supporting jagged edges and girders. (1)

Wreck in 50 36.49N; 002 25.47W. She was partially removed and her remains were dispersed by heavy explosive charges and now lie in two areas. The main area is the position given, the second area is just to the south at 50 36.43N; 002 25.85W [see record 904660]. (4)

31-MAR-2008: Examined in 5036.530N, 0225.541W [WGD] using DGPS. The least multibeam depth was 11.95m in a general depth of 12.72m. No scour. Length 1.53m. Width 1.29m. Height 0.77m. Square object located approximately 35m north of listed position. Two smaller objects located 75m to the west. (5)(6)
