A slit trench probably used by the Home Guard Unit of HM Prison at The Grove. Good coverage of the East Weares below. [Informant: Gordon Black, resident at 'The Grove' during WW2]. At East Cliff, near 'Shepherd's Dinner', alongside footpath no.16. <1-3>
