Full Description

SZ09859103. IA pottery and pits were uncovered during road excavation by the Borough Engineers Department
on 14.10.69 on the southern boundary of 'Riviera', fronting on East Overcliff Drive, Bournemouth. Excavation has been
started by the South Wessex Arch.Assoc. <1>

Excavations for the County Borough and the Museum of Archaeology showed numerous ditches,pits,postholes, and much pottery of a late IA settlement over laid by RB occupation features and finds. <2>
