Summary

Prior to the building of a house extension trenches to a depth of 1.8m were hand dug. No features were noted, but some large fragments of pottery were recovered.

Full Description

Roman, medieval, and post medieval pottery were found in trenches dug before the building of a house extension, no features were observed. The pottery included 3 Black Burnished ware sherds and a piece of Roman grey ware. There were also 6 sherds from handmade cooking pots dated to the 11th and 12th centuries, comparable with similar material recorded from Wareham to Corfe Castle. (1)
